I agree with Dr. Goon' Although I do prefer the blue background to the fire one. Although a melting knight against a burning background could be pretty cool ... A friend for your knight of glass ... ps. You mentioned my daughter on the main board. She's already got a gallery click ... but already she's moved on, trying to grow up quick etc. Hopefully, she'll put her talent to good use

Fire background was for fun testing, not gonna be in the final piece, there might be some fire in the final piece...at least in my mind now, will be able to work out or not, don't know. OMGx3. 1. I was right! She has talents. Hope to see more work from her again. 2. How cute are the user names! WelshBlue & Babyblue. 3. My friend's 8 years old daughter was talking to me: Uncle Ash, I saw in your dA that you were talking about PDN's smudge? Can you install smudge for me please?

Yes, and without any outlines or guide lines. It all depends on how comfortable one is drawing human faces and how comfortable using smudge. To know where the lights and shadow should be...etc etc. Training the old fashion way with good old pencil/pen & paper would be very helpful. Practice, Practice, Practice.... See early stage? just a gray egg head Edit: I am thinking to call this piece "The inner light" (Not the gray egg head, the final piece )

Love the blue one, very eerie ... as for the grey one, I didn't know you had a picture of me.

Two questions though...I see a stark difference between the bluish and grey face, and I was wondering if you used Power Stretch to shape the face after rendering the overall shape of the face. I am also wondering how you did the eyes, bulge or just smudging? BTW, what PDN version are you using? I am using the 3.5 alpha build and I doubt that Smudge plugin will work with the alpha build.

That's because it's between such early stage and final piece. Yes, power stretch was one of the main ones, IIRC... Bulge was one too. I just use whatever I feel will help in shaping the "egg" into a head. Don't just use it once and be done, I believe I used power stretch like more than 10 times on this. Beware the power of the distorts, you must. Eyes...if one can call em that... are only smudge and blending modes. I use 3.36 Alpha/Beta are only for testing, one should always use final build to do normal everyday work. You might be working on something big and alpha build crashed..... you can thank me later. Hmm.... if you really wanna try it, Rename you Paint.NET folder to Paint.NET336, then install the test versions. Make a shortcut for both exe on your desktop or wherever you like. Then you will have both on your system to work with. But do normal work with final build!! Once 3.5 final is out, and you installed it, and moved all your plugins to the new effects folder (Also, always have a back up folder for all the effects). Run it to make sure all plugins are in the new one. then you can delete the Paint.NET336 folder.

I was hoping I didn't look that scary Actually that blue face belongs on a movie poster or video game box, it's that well done. And that 33 of yours in the golf is absolutely doing my head in

It might be just the color theme and drak background making it look scary, to me it looks quite...illuminating?? I can give you some hints on few of the golf courses if you wish Wow, I can tut more than just PDN, who woulda thought.

I wanted to be able to use multicolor gradient, but it kept crashing, so I decided to go back to the stable build. Believe it or not, all the glass blocks and puzzles I had done were used with the 3.5 alpha build. BTW, what the heck is IIRC? Never heard of it.

It is illuminating, the glow is great ... it's the eyes I find quite sinister ... but when I look @ Oma's horse I think it's eyes say, " haha I know something you don't ..." OK I'm weird. I admit it. The Golf ... No tips. The teams I've coached at footie have always been renowned for never giving up. I can't be a bad role model. Perseverance the name of the game here ...
