I will work on this image a bit more and i think i know what you mean by putting the rings on the same plane which means making them horizontal. By suggesting they be on the same plane I meant that they should be lined up with the planet`s equator. So they could still be at an angle like in the earlier versions, just at the same angle as the planet. Sorry if I never made myself clear. Btw , the pic looks excellent now!I see you`ve been working on the asteroids. Nice one.

I likes the first version cause it has a great abstract look to it and its doing every thing it shouldn't (i can picture Goonfella shaking his head in bewilderment at that ) and i like the use of browns as opposed to black, the latest version looks great as well though nice one Chad

Great image mate ... I can't give any critique 'cos I suck @ spacey things, and the image coincidence strikes again as I've just finished a slightly spacey theme and took the rings away after seeing yours. I can comment tho' and I love the rocks, they really stand out, as if they're protruding through the screen, and I love that left hand glow of the scene, very warm colours and effect. And the 5th attempt ? You'll have to stand up and say, "My name is Chad; and I'm a PDN Fanatic "

@ Chad, That spacescape is awesome, I though I commented on it sorry, but why dead space...! There is still an active volcano on the planet. Love those asteroids, stony-Way as Milky-way , I like the dark effect in it, well well done.

Thank you guys very much. I just got back from my best friends mother's funeral. It was yesterday and they live like 600 miles away now . I stayed an extra day to visit them. The funeral was beautiful and it was well befitting of her life. It was a sad time, but yet it was a glad time because she is now no longer in pain. My friend and his family have a long road ahead of them of recovery although it will never be the same but i am glad that i was able to be there for them. They laid their mother to rest in a mausoleum which was very well maintained and it was absolutely beautiful. It kind of makes you take time and think about your life thus far and the future you have ahead of you. We cried, we laughed, but most importantly we remembered the great times we had with his mother and she will never be forgotten. I am for sure a pdnaholic lol. I am deciding on what to do next oh what a quandary it is. I do have an abstract i made but i don't think its worth posting yet because i am still working on it and it not polished enough yet. But rest assured i will come up with something worthy of showing you guys within the next week or two. I might just have to do a terragen/pdn compilation. Terragen is an amazing program. Oh yeah sorry for the blogish post lol. But most importanly thank you all

Chad, although it has been a sad time for you, it is good to see that you're focusing on the positive. The memories of the friendship shared is something to treasure as you do.
Your work is very good & we are looking forward to seeing more from you.

Well Chad your latest abstract is positively brilliant! Great name as well. The only thing I would suggest is that the focal point where the cubes are clearest should be in the middle with the blurred background going out towards the edge of the pic.

Great image...love the colours too.
Goonie is right about the focal point - its a bit confused but otherwise, very, very nice!

I like the Bill Keane quote (also used in Kung Fu Panda) it kind of sums up life : ' The past is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift; that's why its called the present'. Firstly im loving this work ,i think its the blurring of the middle thats lifting the cubes and adding to the 3D effect, its like one of those in-focus/out of focus shots that were very popular with photographers at one time, great idea
