This is a neat effect I discovered while playing with different fill patterns.

1. Choose the FILL tool and set fill type to Trellis

Image

2. Fill your canvas with the Trellis texture

3. Effects > Blurs > Zoom Blur Deluxe: Max Amount, High Quality

Image

4. Create a new layer and zoom out to 66%

5. Choose the Gradient Tool and select Radial

6. Right-Click from the centre and drag to one of the corners of the screen (outside the canvas)

7. Change the Blending Mode of the top layer to Colour Burn.

Try playing with different fill types and different levels of zoom blur, you can get some interesting results.

I agree with Ash, this is a very nice tutorial! :D

I did not do the last 4 steps, and I cropped it to a tile-able section, which, very conveniently, happened to be 512. :D

Sticky'd! :D
