Beautifully made. I love the choice of colours and how it fades into the background. Nice one.
No name? That`s unusual for you Oma. You usually name all your abtracts. :D

Wow oma is amazing, it is a puzzle :), the Tree Gen is there clearly, I know the last few steps you have used, but the texture of the green stone I am not sure if it is cloud or combination of effects, anyways, after you finished the stone you did these steps:
Move the stone to the left some where in the center of left half of the canvas>Twist on default> Polar transformation on default> and Engrave 2 or 3 pixels. May be Paneling is involved before Engrave. :)
Did I get something correct? I love it its awesome.

did I stump you as well. Absolutely no clouds at all in this one and no twist either. Polar transformation, can't recall using that one. I seldom do use it so not likely here. Paneling definitely not used. More than likely its from the way I combined , oblique or Tube oblique back to back. . I've been using those two quite a bit lately. there is point wrap real early in the work and loads of layer rotate zoom. . I did move the original and did engrave, as well as edge detect several times. There are several layers of blurs and MKT's plugin 3dshape about 4 or 5 times. and some transparent gradiant. its the blurs with engrave that give the bumpy texture. Well of course the use eraser is a given....I'd have to say the eraser is the tool I use almost every layer and almost after every effect.... LOL! I do remember more than what I thought I had in making this one.

@Helen I just can not get over how we tend to work so in tandem. When I saw your peacock nest, I just had to show what I'd been working on. The use of treegen by you at the same time I was using it was just so bizzare. Two totally different looks but both start with exactly same plugin. I must admit I forgot entirely about twist that was inspirational on your part. I'll have to keep that in mind for an actual planned abstract. This one was true play and mind release abandonment.

@Goonfella you are correct I haven't named this piece. Its more concept and ideas than a intended art work. Just enjoyed the outcome and thought I'd share, especially when I realized Helen was doing a work with tree gen at exactly same time I was working on one. Do you have a name in mind for this one?

@barbiequ25 OHHHHHHH a gold star. Thanks you! Its been years and years and years since I've been in school but I still remember the thrill in grade 1 of my first ever gold star. The teacher was Mrs. Mirand and it was for learning my numbers.

Love the new abstract, read the description and would guess one off the S3D was cylinder plain map (scalable), great to see you posting work :)

yes most likely it was. not sure which time when I used the shape S3D but I do use that one quite often.
feels good to post. really needed the unwind time. I'd been looking forward to my new treadmill being delivered, but its stuck in transit from factory. Should be at least another week before I get it delivered. I could have used the slow jog to blow off steam so it came down to Paint.net to accomplish that task for me.

Oh! That's what I should call this piece ""Slow burn"".

In Scotland we use the phrase ' she is on a slow burn' when a woman is gathering her wrath, its normally heard in conjunction with the phrase ' head for the hills' accompanied by the sound of running feet :?

@ Oma...you deserve the gold star!

I can get brochures & price list from a supplier the same day but orders take 2-3 days to get here - same couriers too. I'd rather be on the pc than the treadmill :D

@ AFG...that is so funny. We duck for cover.

I`ve just had another look at your latest abstract and when it first appeared the first thing that came into my head was speed. It reminds me of those photos that stretch the light . Can`t recall what that type of photography is called though.
Anyway , getting back to a name for the pic - how about `Fast and Loose'?

Excellent new image Oma ... great colours and textures as per usual.
When I see an image that looks like that I feel honoured when you say you like my abstracts, I wonder how many people apart from us all here who realise how many layers and how much work goes into one of your pieces :|

A title ? I'm stumped for one, but Goon's Fast and Loose conjures up slightly different views in my head  :geek:

thanks for the nice comments on my abstract. Nemo I really can't remember using fragment but possible. I think you may be actually seeing the a motion blur I do remember using that one quite a bit in this latest abstract. Nothing wrong with your abstracts Welsh, they are inner expressions and I can read yours very well from the abstracts you show us. The fact that you get they are not to be just one or two effects thrown together is an accomplishment many on the forum will never understand.

Nemo are you talking of the one on the main forum? I've done a bit more. It looks like just little tiny changes but the feel of the image is coming along real nicely now. Stones have been changed, background added for depth. I didn't end up rotateing the cloud layer as suggested on the other forum but went with a transparent gradiant. This gave the clouds further away an atmospheric perspective. The grass is still a bit too granny smith apple green, but the end blend modes will fix that.

take note of the ripples in the water that I really like on this one. More to come but this is the wip so far. Comments and suggestions please.

Image

the history shows just for the little water laps around the rocks. Now they look more like the rocks sit in the water instead of floating above the water. LOL!

That is looking picture postcard stuff. I love the greyness of the water closest to us ... as it would be.
The water lapping by the rocks, works so well it's almost impossible to tell it's not real

Suggestions ? I guess these are personal things but I'd blur the clouds a couple of notches and maybe put a lil' texture on parts of the rocks to simulate where rushing water hasn't smoothed them away ... or a lil' bit of moss ?

Superb as usual oma ... inspiration indeed to start on my log cabin landscape scene

not yet Welsh still trying that seagull picture reserving those rocks for some birdy doo doo. but will most definetly keep it in mind incase that seagull doesn't pan out.

clouds yes need work , especially that super white one off the left upper area. very distracting. I've actually already dealt with that involving another layer and a bit of blur and stretch. few more minor adjustments to that area. You will see next image it looks much better. More soft and romatic looking.

ciao OMA

This image is so peaceful and realistic. I'd love to visit this place some day. I love how everything is so perfectly illustrated and composed. Nice job!
