The Unofficial Challenge Thread

This is an unofficial challenge to all PDN Fanatics, minus myself of course! I think the community needs a little "booster shot" to get things moving and brushes painting..

The Rules:

• Image must be at least 400x400px in size, and no larger than 1440x900.
• You can use source photos for anything in the image, but you must post links and tell what it was used for.
• Each contestant may enter one photo per category.
• Feel free to suggest rules and ask questions.

The Deadline:

• Midnight, December 5th

That's the gist of it... Now, get PDNing! You only have one week!

I will be counting votes Sunday, Dec. 13th!

Oh Sidney! I have just completed a whole series using fire! Just have a gander at my gallery

Now I have to choose which one to enter...I've got one for each day of the week I think.

But here is one that I like. The dish is very similar to a Murano glass dish I have.

Great, we have our first contestant! I'll assume that was meant to go in the Realistic category, so you may enter one more into the stylized category if you wish. Anyone else willing to pit their Fanaticalness against barbieq?

Ok, here we go...Does this one fit in the stylised category?



Damn... for got to add that I used stock for the tribal flame - available from: http://www.signspecialist.com/stripes/flames/index.html

Hmm... I don't think it does. I was thinking "stylized" meant more along the lines of "Not Reaslitic" aka gossy or cartooned fire.

The only challenge/competition I've won!

Wasn't hard though seeing there were only 3 entries & 2 of them were mine.

I'll be sure to very carefully & thoughtfully spend the gift card on absolutely nothing!

Haha! Thank you barbieq, for the compliment. I would never have thought it was a possibility that you would have meant that in a bad way Haha.

Here's an idea.. How about after an unofficial challenge, the person who won (or people, in the case of multiple categories, collaborating together) make a new unofficial challenge. This way, at least until the administration gets back, we can continue to have challenges that stimulate the community. So barbieq, if you could, I think it would be awesome now if you made the next challenge.

Awesome! I like the idea of challenges. At the moment I have a fair amount of free time but not everyone does so my thought is to extend the time for 2 weeks to give people a chance & we would get a better response to the challenge.

Water & glass I think would be good. I've never really done glass but I know Lance is going to do a piece. So any work that incorporates glass & water in whatever form.

How does that sound?

I'm game.
